About Us

When it opened in 2010 the Weber® Grill Academy™ became the UK’s first and only dedicated barbecue cookery school. Led by a group of passionate and dedicated chefs the aim was to inspire and educate visitors to expand their barbecuing repertoire and get the very best out of their Weber® barbecue.

A lot has happened since 2010! We have taught the Weber way to over 7000 retailers and consumers, teaching them how to grill, roast, smoke and bake on the barbecue. Backyard heroes across the country have moved on from the traditional bangers and burgers, adding delectable dishes such as beer can chicken, baby back ribs, chilli and even molten chocolate puddings to their barbecue menu. Each year we’ve seen the demand for our courses grow, so much so that we have now outgrown our building in the Oxfordshire countryside.

So, as of 30th September 2014 we have closed the Grill Academy in Oxfordshire as we prepare to relocate and open an exciting new cookery school in London.

During this transition period our chefs remain as dedicated as ever to spreading the Weber way and there are a number of ways you can benefit and share their knowledge and expertise.

Chef Events:

Beginning in November, we will be hosting a series of 2 hour demonstration events around the UK and Ireland. Held at various garden centres these events will see the chefs cook up a festive storm as they show you how to make the most out of your barbecue over the winter months. Showcasing sensational seasonal dishes that are easy to follow, there’ll be the opportunity or a few tasters and all the recipes will be available in a handy booklet for you to take away and recreate at home. Check out www.weberbbq.co.uk/events for your nearest event.

Twitter:

The team have a wealth of experience amongst them and have become the first port of call for radio, television, magazine articles and have even found themselves demonstrating alongside chefs such as ‘The Fabulous Baker Brothers’ and many more.

You can contact each of our chefs direct, at their individual Twitter accounts, for advice and to answer any of your burning barbecue questions. Reach them at:

Grill Academy Community page:

Our chefs will be keeping busy over the next few months, and each week they’ll be posting updates to the Community page here on the Grill Academy website.

We’ll be posting more information on our new cookery school on our website and social media pages in due course.

Just to say a massive thank you to Claire, Richard and Jordan. We had a wonderful time in a fantastic location, learnt so many new things in a very fun well structured way. We cooked and ate great food with a thoughtful selection of drinks and lovely wine and will be looking forward to expanding our knowledge further with Part 2 of the course. Gutted that all tickets for Saturday at Grillstock in Bristol have been sold so will be unable to catch up with the team. It goes to show how popular BBQing has become. Carole and Ian Ridge.
