Perfect for anyone looking to learn the Weber® way of cooking, this introductory course will teach you how to achieve consistently great results with classic barbecue dishes. You will learn must-have barbecue skills, such as lighting, controlling temperature and how to tell when your food is cooked to perfection.

Using Weber's lid-on technique on both charcoal and gas barbecues, an expert chef will spend two and a half hours teaching you the best way to cook a number of all time barbecue classics.

As part of this course you'll be asked to prepare your own juicy cheeseburgers and be taught how to cut and portion a whole chicken, using the various pieces to create a succulent barbecued chicken dish. The chef will also show just one of the many possibilities to expand your barbecue menu with a demonstration of the famous "beer can chicken."

The menu will include:

  • Perfect sausages
  • Barbecued chicken marinated in lemon garlic and oyster sauce
  • Grilled chuck steak cheese burgers
  • Beer can roast chicken

In what was once a disused pub in the heart of the Surrey Hills, The Abinger Cookery School was founded by a small team of culinary enthusiasts with a wealth of experience and a passion for all things foodie. Within our first year, we teamed up with the gourmet ski chalet holiday specialists Fish&Pips, and together, we teach our students all about excellent food and diverse recipes within a bustling and vibrant industry. We aim to fire up your imagination with courses that are practical, inspired and of course – fun! We believe in utilising the best produce that Britain has to offer and most of our ingredients are sourced from fantastic suppliers, right on our doorstep. Our Head Chef Vincent Clist comes with 3 years’ experience working with Fish&Pips and has contributed to their successful chalet cookery book ‘A portion of Fish&Pips’. Vinny was also in the kitchen in 2010 when Fish&Pips won the Times Chalet Chef Award and we’re lucky to have him share his skills and knowledge with us today! The Abinger team adore food and look forward to passing that love on to you.
